EU4Business in Moldova – 4 July, Chisinau (Moldova). The European Investment Bank (EIB) Group will host an interactive seminar to present the extensive range of support made available to private sector development in Moldova. Registration ends on 23 June 2017.
Funding available
EUR 75 million to support environmentally-sustainable projects in Poland. The Juncker Plan has backed a European Investment Bank loan agreement with Bank Ochrony Środowiska, a bank specialising in supporting environmentally-friendly projects. This credit line will unlock EUR 75 million for small and medium-sized businesses in Poland. Around 40% of this amount is expected to support renewable energy, energy efficiency, sustainable transport and waste management projects.
European Investment Fund (EIF) and Scottish Growth Scheme co-finance equity investments in Scotland. Scottish companies looking for significant investment will now be able to access an additional GBP 200 million through the Scottish-European Growth Co-investment Programme.
EU policies for better business
EU celebrates end of roaming charges while European Commission will watch the implementation carefully. As of 15 June consumers will not have roaming charges when travelling to another EU country. Every existing or new contract that includes roaming services will change to "roam like at home" contract. New EU rules will cover data services, voice calls and SMS. European Commission extends its action against dumped steel imports of construction material from Belarus. The Commission decided last week to impose definitive anti-dumping measures against imports of steel rebars from Belarus. The new import duties imposed will shield European producers from unfair Belarusian competition in the next five years.
