General information
- Short Summary
-
Software and engineering company in Italy patented a holographic station for the remote provision of services in any kind of sector or industry, wherever interaction and person-to-person contact is needed.
Simple, cost-effective, secure, with low bandwidth consumption and fully interactive in true real time (normal real-life desk operations can be executed in full from remote) are the product's characteristics.
The company is now looking for foreign distributors. - Full Description
-
Originally founded in 2005 as a R&D company, the Italian SME is able to address and respond with innovative solutions to critical changes in industries and services.
Thanks to continuous research and development, the company grew a relevant portfolio of advanced and innovative technologies in the world of real-time multi-device, multi-flow streaming, artificial intelligence and holographic solutions aimed at naturalizing human integration in the digital world.
Recently, new agreements of cooperation with international executives and highly experienced professionals active in industry verticals are enhancing the ability of the company to respond to fine targeted requirements from prospects and customers.
Awarded the EU Commission Seal of Excellence for Innovation in 2016 and 2017, it was registered as an innovative SME by the Ministry of Industry and Innovation of Italy.
Last year, this SME was acquired by an engineering company, a European leader in its field, forming its new IoT division.
The actual company’s strategy is focused on creating strategic alliances with major operators in technology and markets, so to ensure a steady growth and exposure on a global scale.
The current markets of the company are: Austria, UK, Sweden and India.
The holographic telepresence station makes people interact from remote locations whilst living the experience of being in the same room.
The state-of-the-art station design is based on advanced optical perceptions. It combines hardware
(cameras, monitors, computers and speakers) with a specific scenography (lighting, sound, reflections and interior design) to create lifelike hologram representations of people and space.
This allows for natural human communication and creates “true presence” for service points within service-critical businesses.
This is a unique solution, disruptive in its ability to maintain the emotion and feeling of a physical meeting whilst cutting on costs for the corporate user.
The benefits include extensions of resence during time, capillarity of services in territories, reductions in expenditure for travel and presence on locations, office space, knowledge sharing.
Physical interaction is based on the real facial expressions, gestures, and subtle "non verbal" cues that are the foundation of a meaningful communication experience.
The station consists of a front-end environment where the user(s) can see the remote operator(s), talk to him/her and upload, exchange and process documents and files and a back-end environment where the operator(s) can see and talk to the user(s).
The two environments are equipped with cameras that allow for eye-to-eye contact, microphone speaker for dialogue, and physical devices that allow the exchange and processing of digital- and paper based information.
The station is patented and has been thoroughly tested in an operational environment.
People accessing the service point, will have the feeling of “true presence” and experience real eye contact and all sensations of actually being in the same room. Both parties talk and interact in exactly the same way as if they were physically present.
This can be extended to several people interacting together at the same time in a conferencing/co-working space, creating a mixed reality environment where real presence and holograms of far located people are interacting in real-time.
The company is looking for distributors in order to reach and expand in new markets.
The potential partner should have contacts with public and private services, banking and insurance, real estate, training and education and any other segment where person-to-person contact and interaction/transaction is key. - Advantages and Innovations
-
ADVANTAGES:
- Cost-savings on all levels (planning, set-up, running, space, employee, time&extra time, travel….)
- Increased quality and efficiency of services
- Full real-time interactive communication - 300 mS in 4G
- Extremely low bandwidth consumption - 800 Kb to 2 Mb/sec
- Increased response potential for prompt availability of personnel
- Increased coverage and reach from/to smaller, more remote branches
- Ability to attend/interact from virtually any location (back end)
- Optimize utilization and rotation of personnel
- Re-definition of organizational processes and re-modelling of workflows efficiency-wise
INNOVATIONS:
1) Only existing solution allowing full interaction between person and hologram (no matter the service: e.g. ticketing, info desk, personal investment, subscriptions, ID cards emission....)
2) Eye-to-eye contact and natural interaction between people
3) Bright and comfortable environment (opposite to current holography)
4) Extremely low costs of installation/operation (from 50% to 10% of non-interactive competing solutions)
5) Limitless combination of devices for performing operations (e.g. POS machines, digital signature, document validation, print and exchange documents...)
6) Highly flexible in sizing and interior design
7) One-to-many-to-one, point-to-point communication
8) Standard hardware, essential equipment, simple structure
9) Fully secure by design and by software, as it includes cryptography, man-in-the-middle protection and an architectural structure making it impregnable. - Stage of Development

- IPR notes
-
The system is patented and a further extension of the patent is undergoing.
The company is working on the application to obtain the Common Criteria certification from the BSI the Federal Cyber Security Authority of Germany.
The Common Criteria for Information Technology Security Evaluation (referred to as Common Criteria or CC) is an international standard (ISO/IEC 15408) for computer security certification.
