General information

Short Summary
The Dutch company has developed a factory installation setup for the production of BIO LNG based on input of BIO gas produced out of waste-based feedstock.
The company has built production facilities in Netherlands a.o. and is looking for professional installation & service partners across Europe
Full Description
Bio-LNG is a solution for long-haul, heavy-duty transport - a key sector in our fight against pollution. The company has developed breakthrough technology for transforming biogas into premium bio-LNG. Achieving great economic advantage while creating substantial positive environmental impact. The best use of biogas is bio-LNG for heavy duty transport.

The company has developed a decentralised production technology that will be located nearby a production site of biogas based on organic waste such as manure, food waste, organic household waste or other residues.

Bio-LNG can be produced and used within close proximity, reducing transportation costs and emissions, and supporting local economies. Moreover, it aligns with circular economy principles by efficiently using local waste. The companies bio-LNG sites are designed to suit local conditions to reduce environmental impact.

Bio-LNG can be stored for longer periods without significant energy loss, offering greater flexibility and independence from immediate consumption needs.

The moment a new production facility will be developed and built, the company itself will organize most of the local installation and commissioning. However, once the plant is up and running, it is more efficient to work with local partners for preventive and corrective service and maintenance.

For this reason, the company is looking for local partners with experience in the installation of production sites with gasses, fluids, high pressure compressors, valves and piping.
Advantages and Innovations
Lowest Total Cost of Ownership
The bio-LNG technology is a model of energy efficiency, using proven, less complex, methods to make small-scale production cost-effective. With integrated CO₂ capture and liquefaction, the process achieves low carbon intensity & zero methane slip, which depending on feedstock can result in a negative carbon intensity index.

Only membrane technology is used for CO₂ removal, avoiding the need for consumables & heat, minimizing maintenance, enhancing our operational efficiency.
The robust liquefaction process, based on the reverse Brayton cycle with methane expansion and flash cooling, ensures continuous production with minimal downtime. These innovations collectively help in reducing the initial investment and the ongoing operational costs.

Easy to operate, unmanned plant
The company has designed a bio-LNG plant with a focus on ease of operation, allowing for unmanned functioning. The user-friendly approach integrates biogas treatment and liquefaction into a compact, energy-efficient system. This design simplifies operations & reduces energy consumption. Unmanned operation is implemented. Remote monitoring capabilities, continuous 24/7 operation without onsite staff, means cuts labor costs and boosts safety and efficiency.

Also, the plants feature a self-service offloading process. The fuel truck driver performs offloading, enhancing operational simplicity & efficiency. The plants run efficiently, reliably, constant human supervision need.

Independence from grid connections
Bio-LNG, as liquefied biomethane, has a higher energy density than biomethane in its gaseous form. This makes it more efficient to store & transport over longer distances.
While gaseous biomethane often requires a connection to a local gas grid for distribution, bio-LNG can be transported like conventional LNG, using tankers and containers, making it more adaptable to areas without established gas grid infrastructure.
