General information

Short Summary
A French Research and Technology Organization is developing laser-based advanced manufacturing technologies for high-precision machining (drilling, welding, etc.), eco-friendly surface engineering, recycling. The RTO is looking for advanced manufacturing technology providers and SMEs from the blue economy over the Interreg Atlantic area. This collaboration aims to demonstrate the benefits of these technologies for a sustainable and circular blue economy. Call deadline : February 14th, 2025.
Full Description
The Research and Technology Organization leading the project is an advanced manufacturing technology provider, engineering laser-based processes for industry, among which micromachining, eco-friendly surface functionalization and recycling.
The Interreg Atlantic area boasts a significant know-how and ecosystem in blue economy – in particular renewable energies - and manufacturing technologies. The synergies between both sectors can strengthen their respective leaderships over these regions.
The project thereby aims to boost interregional cooperation among SMEs involved in the blue economy, strengthening their competitiveness and resilience over their value chain, through the diffusion of advanced manufacturing technologies via the development of proof-of-concepts, training and networking activities.
The RTO is looking for SMEs and research organizations enabling the blue economy and advanced manufacturing intertwin:
- Research organizations, universities, and SMEs from both sectors, to develop proof-of-concepts, manufacturing small parts for blue economy applications.
- Regional development agencies for the wide diffusion of the technologies, supporting the creation of synergies and cooperations.
Advantages and Innovations
The scope of this proposal focuses on the cooperation of advanced manufacturing and the blue economy sectors, which will be a key asset to strengthening a sustainable, circular and resilient value chain. Cutting-edge technologies will be employed for the development of three innovative proof-concepts (surface functionalization, re-manufacturing, recycling) for this first of its kind EU cooperation.
