General information

Short Summary
A German start-up has designed a small and very efficient 1 kW wind turbine for distributed power generation that can be used for remote regions even with low wind speeds. The turbine is easy to transport and install and fully recyclable. The start-up is looking for investors (<500k€), partners for pilot projects in 2026 and resellers for 2027.
Full Description
The German start-up is specializing in the development, manufacturing, and distribution of small wind turbines and has designed a small wind turbine for distributed power generation. It can connect to an existing PV-system especially suitable for regions which cannot rely only on solar energy

Its main features are:
- powerful: it produces approx. 7x more energy than comparable products
- convenient: transportable in a car, installable without crane and without pouring concrete, easy to operate and maintain
- environmental-friendly: 100% repairable and recyclable, long life-time.

It is ideal for islands, farms and remote infrastructures that need power (telecommunication towers, highways, etc) and it can be produced regionally worldwide.

The turbine meets IEC61400-2 standard for safety.

In order to ensure the successful integration of the new turbine into the market, the start-up is looking for investors, pilot users to validate the technology as well as resellers (e.g. PV-installers) for distribution as of 2027. A licence agreement might also be a cooperation option.
Advantages and Innovations
- The 1kW turbine has a rotor 7x larger than comparable products (15m²). This enables capturing
much more energy and producing more electricity.
- The turbine is made of metals, standard parts and natural fibers. This makes it 100% repairable and
recyclable.
- The power electronics outputs a stable 48VDC current, similar to a PV-system. The turbine can
therefore be plugged into an existing PV-system
- The turbine was designed for remote areas, where infrastructures, cranes, concretes are not
available.

Partner Sought

Expected Role of a Partner
Type of partner sought:
- Industry: PV-installer who are interested in selling PV, batteries and wind turbines. They should be planning to install at least 6 turbines / year.

Specific area of activity of the partner:
- Distribution. The partner should offer the turbine to their customers (e.g. together with a PV-system, batteries) and act as reseller and installer. A profit of approx. 3k€ / wind turbine sold is expected for the reseller.

Moreover, the SME is interested in a partnership with investors or organisations interested in licencing the technology.
