General information

Short Summary
A Spanish SME located in the Liébana valley (northern Spain), specialised in the artisanal production of high-quality eau de vie, fruit liqueurs, wine and craft spirits, is seeking international partners under commercial agreements. The company uses traditional distillation methods and local ingredients to produce award-winning products, including PGI-certified wines and aged spirits. The SME is looking for importers and distributors abroad.
Full Description
The Spanish company, based in the mountainous region of Liébana (Cantabria), has been producing artisanal spirits since 1991, continuing a local distillation tradition that dates back to the High Middle Ages. It is a family-owned SME with extensive expertise in crafting high-quality alcoholic beverages.

The company's flagship product is a traditional eau de vie made using the "alquitara Lebaniega", a historical distillation method specific to the region. This technique allows for low-temperature distillation, preserving the aromatic qualities of the grape pomace and resulting in a smooth and refined spirit. The company also ages part of the eau de vie in French Limousin oak barrels for up to 10 years, producing premium variants.

In addition, the firm produces fruit liqueurs through maceration, wines made from Mencía grapes under the PGI “Vino de la Tierra de Liébana”, and innovative spirits such as gin (including oak-aged gin) and whisky from Cantabria. Their products have received national recognition and awards.

The vineyards are located on the south-facing slopes of the Picos de Europa, benefiting from a unique microclimate and sustainable viticulture practices. No herbicides are used, and biological controls are favoured over synthetic pesticides. The company is currently expanding its vineyard capacity with over 4,000 new vines planted.

Its products are currently sold across Spain through direct channels and large retailers. To expand its international presence, the company is seeking importers and distributors willing to collaborate under commercial agreements.
